The challenge

El Closet de la Ciela is a US-based jewelry brand serving the Hispanic market. The goal wasn't just launching a store — it was creating a shopping experience that built immediate trust in a competitive space and worked just as well on mobile as on desktop.

The brand needed a digital presence that communicated elegance and accessibility at the same time: quality jewelry at accessible prices, with international shipping from the US and a checkout flow smooth enough to keep customers from dropping off mid-purchase.

Key design decisions

The theme of choice is Valoon REBRAND, configured with the brand's identity palette: teal #28677d as the primary color, white for clean backgrounds, and charcoal for body text. Quicksand at all weights (300–800) gives the store a modern, feminine personality without feeling generic.

The tagline "Full of Jewelry, Full of Joy" is intentionally in English — a signal that the brand operates from the US and a trust cue for shoppers who hesitate to buy from overseas retailers. The subtitle "International Shipping From USA" answers the shopper's biggest objection before they even think to ask.

What I learned

In jewelry e-commerce, visual trust is everything. The first impression determines whether a shopper browses or bounces. Every decision — the color palette, the typography, the hero copy, the product layout — has to communicate that this brand is real, has actual inventory, and ships from a reliable location.

The other key takeaway was about market positioning. Running an English-language store with a Spanish name isn't a contradiction — it's a strategy. The brand speaks to US Hispanics who shop in English but connect with their culture. The design has to honor that dual identity without losing coherence.
